My name is Jose Kuribreña, and I’m an industrial designer based in Vancouver, BC.

Growing up in Mexico City, one of the largest urban environments in the world, I was surrounded by constant movement, noise, and energy. Spending time outdoors became a way to escape that intensity, and through it I discovered a lasting connection to nature that continues to shape my design practice today.

As a rock climber, bike packer and outdoor adventure enthusiast, I’ve learned to embrace discomfort as an opportunity to grow. Whether I’m on a wall, in the backcountry, or working through a design challenge, I believe adaptability, curiosity, and persistence are some of the most valuable tools you can have.

My work is driven by a desire to push the limits of what I think is possible. I’m especially passionate about digital fabrication, emerging manufacturing methods, and soft goods design. Through my projects, I explore how thoughtful, functional products can support adventure while making better use of the materials already around us. Sustainability, repairability, and circular design are ideas that consistently guide my work, alongside a goal of creating equipment that helps people get outside and explore with confidence.
